Right — been on this thing for something like four months now and it's basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I'd write something up since a mate asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, for context.
What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn't ever get my head round what an e/w return would be once you get five places instead of three. Basically I'd eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. These days I stick my stake in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — type in stake and odds and it shows the return straight away, either odds format. There's also the multiples — trebles maths, a lucky 15, a yankee, and that's where most people I know mess it up. What genuinely made a difference were the more serious tools. The implied probability calculator which shows you what margin's baked in, and a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool is handy too if I'm splitting a race.
It's not perfect mind. The interface is very functional, let's say — no flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it's fine though the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. Also there's nothing on the app store, it's a website and that's it — doesn't bother me but worth saying.
Right, that's me. Free, barely any ads, does what it says. If anyone still works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me a load of arguments with the bookie.
